Introduction
From WST
The Walcot Street Trust is a registered charity, set up in 2004 to preserve the historical and architectural heritage in and around Walcot Street in the city of Bath. Its first project is to seek the restoration and re-use of Bath Corn Market.
In 2005 the Trust produced an Options Appraisal to establish the viable options for the restoration and use of the building. This was followed in February, 2006 by a public exhibition about the Corn Market with visitors invited to see inside the building by The Quest.
Most recently, in July, 2008, the Trust completed a Business Plan and submitted it to Bath & North East Somerset Council. A copy of the plan can be downloaded at this link. (PDF, 877 KB.) The Council instead chose to place the property on the market for sale to a private developer.
The WST management committee—trustees and co-opted members—meets monthly. New members and trustees are always welcome.
